Evening in and another day Eurodisney

After  the Catacombs we travelled back on the RER towards Eurodisney, but stopped one stop earlier, to Val d'Europe which is a huge shopping mall.

You should have seen the supermarket!  on two levels, with clothes, whiteware, toys and more on the top level and food on the bottom level it went on for hours.

We had a disappointing dinner, and then Mark, the little kids and I took the bus home, leaving Hamish and Matt to do some shopping.

They had to make their own way home, and this proved to be an adventure in itself.  The first time they took the train to the last stop ready for the bus, the timetable showed the next bus wasn't for an hour, so they trained back to the mall.  Then an hour later they made the trip again!  They didnt get home to our apartment till 11:30pm by which time I was quite worried them and had stayed up to see they got in OK.  I guess the worst case scenario would have been to be stuck at the train station all night....

A SECOND DAY IN EURODISNEY
This time we went into the Disney Studios, and the little kids enjoyed going through the rides at Toy Story, and Matt, Hamish and I went on the Tower Hotel Tower of Terror, which put me off lifts for life.  It was very cleverly done, you enter a 1930's hotel through the lobby and are put into the library where the bellhop tells you there is a short film to watch, but to stay on the carpet "for your own safety" (that had everyone checking the floor!).  Then as the 'elevators" are out of action, you must use the service elevator.  In you go, behind the workings of the hotel, through pipes, and electricity cables, to the service elevators.  Once in the lift, it goes up floor, the doors open and short scene shows, then it drops down, the doors open a short scene shows, and so on until the end when you travel about 4 or 5 floors up and drop directly to the ground floor.  It  really got the wind up us, I tell you.

We all went on Thunder Mountain, the only roller coaster Montana-Rose and Albie went on, funny with M-Rose holding her glasses and screaming!

In the evening we went to Buffalo Bills Wild West show....a bit cheesy, but pretty amazing to see live bison (which the cowboys and indians were actually quite wary of), and to see lassooing, a stagecoach holdup etc.  And at some point Mickey Mouse and Minnie came out, to groans from the NZ contingent! (us)

The food was funny, no  veges, all meat.  Started with cornbread and chill con carne, then followed by half a baked chicken, some pork spare ribs and lots of potatoes.  Finally a very nice cinnamony apple crumble and icecream.  All served to how ever many hundred people werein the stadium.
