We arrived home tired, grumpy and minus one bag....but we made it and what memories we are taking away!

Circus Krona
Munich has it's own resident circus, and Uschi and Franziska took us there the last night before we left. It was amazing, especially the woman with 5 tigers..
Bus Tour round Munich
While Hamish and Matt went off with Franziska, Uschi took the rest of us on a bus tour round this wonderful city
After the tour we visited the Hunting Museum in Munich, with an amazing display of hunting sleds used by previous kings/princes, along with crossbows etc.
In the evening we went for dinner and had a Schweinebraten at an old restaurant in down town Munich, the kids went off afterwards with Uschi to the toy store nearby, where a certain stuffed kitten caused all sorts of drama for a tearful Montana-Rose (who won out, and got to take the kitten home).
BMW Pickup
What I thought would be a 1/2hr bit of boringness, turned out to be a fun 3 hours, with games, interesting stuff to do, fun bikes and cars to get in and out of, an amazing building, and we all had a ball! We even saw someone up their new BMW car and drive it away.

Neuschwanstein Castle, and Austria
Further into the Alps, and to Neuschwanstein
Franziska and Matt wait for the horse and carts to arrive down in the township.
We went by horse and cart up through the snowfilled forest, up to the Castle. Funny, it has never been finished as the king Ludwig II of Bavaria died before it was finished (only one of his many castles has been finished). There were several very impressive rooms open for display which we really enjoyed seeing.
Then we walked back down through the snow to get back into the cars and drive into Austria for dinner!
A dark drive home in slippery snow, round a lake and back via Autobahn (200km/hr) to Munich..wheww what a day

Train to Germany
Next day was a slow start, an 11am checkout, and the little kids played with me in the Kids Club at the Marriott apartments.
Then taxi to Marne le Vally Chessy, to catch the TGV high speed train to Strasbourg, where we changed trains to go onwards to Munich.
We arrived late in Munich where Franziska and Uschi were waiting for us! Wonderful to see them! and big hugs all round.
They took us in two cars to the hotel and the little kids went to bed, babysat by a grumpy Matt, while Uschi went over some plans for things to do.
The next morning we had breakfast at the hotel then set off towards Neuschwanstein. We drove towards the Alps, and into the Alps, first a little dusting of snow and by the time we had reached our first attraction (Wieskirche) the snow was about a foot deep.
Montana-Rose and Albie went made jumping about in the snow, and making snowballs.
