Arrival of an International Award Winning Artist (and more)

We have arrived...safe, sound and a little shook up.  The ground keeps rocking under our feet, and it's not earthquakes.

Our flight CHC-Auckland went without a hitch.  With such a late departure (8:30pm) the little kids were tired once we set foot in Auckland airport.  As luck would have it we had 6 x Koru Club passes, and went upstairs in Auckland to see if we could wangle our way in.  Sweet as, we checked into the Koru Club, voila free food, wine and drinks, also free internet for the boys and Montana-Rose even lay down on a couch and had a wee sleep.

Back onto the flight at 11:59pm, and off we went to Hong Kong.  Pretty much went without a hitch, except for the flight being extra full.  Apparently a Singapore flight had been cancelled, and a whole heap of people had been left in Auckland overnight and rebooked on our flight.

Hong Kong was huge, we walked 10 mins to the food court, and took some pix of us filling in time there.

Then on to the London flight, which again was full.

It's funny what you can learn when stuck in a small airplane for 14 hours...Hamish happened to mention in passing that he won an International award for a design.  He had entered via his Polytech and won.  He got a presentation, an article in the Timaru newspaper and $400!  I must admit I gave him some stick about his phone calls always being along the "nothing is happening here" lines. Arrival into Heathrow, weather cool to crisp 5C.  Addie and Charlie picked us up.  Albie was getting increasingly tired and teary.  A drive to the hotel, and then confusion about where the hotel actually is...round and round Princes Square looking for number 42, which is actually on Princes St...!aarrgh.  Little kids into bed, Mark and Hamish on SIM card and food shopping duty, and me into the bath.  Matt joed out with his head on the table and is now in bed fully clothed, except for his shoes which I managed to get off him, in his dazed state.

Pix to come, as they are on the camera memory (don't ask, it).
