The Amazing Race

Well!  Albie woke up today with a huge fat lip.  He has been complaining of a sore nose and mouth for the past few days, starting on Friday just before we left NZ.  This morning I had a look at it and when I lifted up his lip to have a look a whole heap of pus came out  - arrgh-

Called the Dr via the hotel (STG200), who didnt do anything but refer us to the hospital.  So Mark, Albie and I had our first ride in a black cab.  The first hospital gave antibiotics, but referred us to another hospital to visit a community dentist.  Off we went in another taxi, in a rush, because "You have to be there by 12midday".  They only gave us another set of antibiotics so we have about 10 days worth.  They couldn't give him either an Xray (the machine wasn't working) or an injection and extraction (which is what he needs)...It turns out he has a loose front tooth, an absess and the tooth needs to come out.

Other news, we were all up early this morning.  Mark was up from about 2am, and the rest of us from about 4am.  By 5:30 even the boys were up and showering and we were all trying to have breakfast!  All the kids and I went for a walk.  We walked past Queensway and Bayswater Stations down Queensway, and then alongside Hyde Park to Nottinghill Statino, in the dark morning cold.  Who knows what people thought of us out so early with the little kids in tow.
